Highland lake fishing

The Land Rover is raised and modified, and the step up into it is high. If anyone in your group may find that difficult, contact us before you book: +354 691 1849 or mudshark@mudshark.is.

You will be fishing for brown trout and arctic char, guided by an experienced Icelandic angler who will fill your heads with all kinds of stories about the environment, farmers and fishermen. The tour is quite appropriate for families — easy fishing for all. We pick you up at your hotel and head into the mountains, stopping by at a few interesting spots and enjoying the scenery on the way. The more we stop, the less we fish — it is your call. We buy fishing permits on the way at Landmannahellir which are payed for separately. There are many lakes we can fish in. Possible lakes are Frostastaðavatn (arctic char), Ljótipollur (brown trout) and Dómadalsvatn (arctic char), and possibly others. You will be provided with all the fishing gear you need. Bring with you all food and drink for the day.
